Inequalities on the labour market – literature review

Summary/Abstract: In most European countries, the situation of women in the professional sphere is not the same as the situation of men. This paper focuses on the problem of gender inequality in the labor market based on the analysis of data from polls conducted in Poland and around the world. The attention was focused on such issues as: the level of employment of women and men, the level and relation of wages between men and women, working time of women and men as well as the structure of employment and the possibility of development. The paper also tried to identify the causes of these inequalities.
