Summary/Abstract: During the past few years our investigation of the social reaction to the disease has confirmed the hypothesis that the promotion of AIDS, introduced into society as a disease of so-called risk groups (thus opening wide the door to stigmatization and repression), has been and still is a significant moderator of the over-all social reaction ("Savin, K , i dr., 1992). The disease was not expenenced as a significant problem of the global society, nor did citizens feel it as a personal problem. It was connected almost exclusively to the risk-groups and to their risky sexual lifestyles.
