Summary/Abstract: In the text the author indicates different possibilities of recognizing the institution of school together with the consequence of adopting a chosen perspective for development of the community. The analysis of student’s, teacher’s and parent’s questions about being together at school is an attempt to indicate the lack of social competences that are evident in school and family life. Author points the barriers of shaping competences resulting from functioning within the institution. At the same time emphasizing the necessity of community development in this area.
