Summary/Abstract: The result of the considerations regarding the understanding of religion and faith in the philosophy of Kant can be seen that the Kantian conception of religion is the reversal of the traditionally conceived revealed religion. While God in Christianity is recognized as the source and purpose of religion, Kant derives his religion from human reason. Religion has a natural source, not a supernatural one. Similarly, the purpose of religion is not God, but what is regarded as the goal of morality, or the highest good. Kant’s position on faith is a new approach. Faith finds its proper place on the ground of morality, where it is the recognition of the postulates of practical reason, whose existence is necessary to achieve the goal of morality. The faith thus understood is a rational faith as opposed to the revealed faith.
