Summary/Abstract: Deagrarization is one of the most dramatic developments in the post-Second World War history of Yugoslavia. Until the mid-1980s over seven million Yugoslavs migrated from rural areas to the cities. Those involved in the rural exodus represented the most productive and most capable section of the rural population. Rapid deagrarization has fundamentally changed the cultural values of the Yugoslav society.
