Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with measures of active policy towards unemployed in selected countries, undertaken with the aim of including the unemployed into work. The author gives an explanation of the term, type and basic characteristics of the most important measures of active labor market policies. Special attention is paid to new forms of policy towards unemployment in developed countries, with emphasis on Bosnia and Herzegovina. The author concludes that the existing portfolio of active labor market policies in both entities is very limited. Emphasis is placed on subsidies for wages and self-employment, and the involvement of social partners in the development and implementation of active labor market policies is very limited.
