Summary/Abstract: The problem of corruption is widespread, not only in underdeveloped and legally unregulated, but also in developed and legally regulated societies. Corruption should also be publicly talked about because corruption is a denial of law and a rule of law and which significantly jeopardizes the equality, solidarity and security of citizens. Corruption destroys the relationship of trust, both to public authorities and politicians, and to the possibility of honest civic and business relations. The criminal-legal response to corruption is of paramount importance. At the institutional level, it is necessary to strengthen the capacities of institutions, since this is a prerequisite for efficient implementation of the law. In this context, it is crucial to strengthen the institutions that need to be the pillar of independence and apolitism in truly democratic societies, with the aim of more efficiently performing and fulfilling their tasks.
