Summary/Abstract: This article presents the analysis of the musical language and interpretation problems of Sonata No.1 in h-minor for accordion with buttons signed by the Russian composer Nikolai Ceaikin and dedicated to the accordionist virtuoso Nikolai Rizol who participated directly in the process of creating the opus. Being composed during World War II between 1943 and1944, this work is the first sonata-like work for accordion in the academic repertoire. The revitalization of the forms of the composition, characteristic of the classical and romantic epochs (the allegro form of the sonata in part I, the theme with variationsin part II, the composite tripartite form of the scherzo and the rondo form in the finale) enriched by symphonic principles and pianistic procedures combined with the technical and expressive spectrum of the accordion clearly determines the closeness of Sonata No.1 h-moll for accordion with buttons to the symphonic sonata genre.
