Summary/Abstract: We consider the economic crisis as a significant factor of change, affecting also individual management functions - planning, organizing, leading people, human resources, control and decision-making. The aim of our contribution is to examine the impact of the crisis on one of these functions, namely leadership in company management. We are dealing with changes in team leadership, competencies, and in the styles of leadership of people caused by the crisis. The statistical hypothesis is tested on the significance level of 0.05 with 115 foreign and domestic companies participating in the research and running their business in the Slovak Republic. Our research has confirmed the impact of the crisis on the increased emphasis on ethical leadership.
