Summary/Abstract: Yugoslavia sociology shares the general orientation espoused by other eastern sociologists, and some western sociologists, namely, a concern for the human condition and the need to study and eliminate those aspects of the social structure which obstruct the realization of the human personality. Yugoslavian sociology is estimated to be only a few decades old. The number of profesional sociologists, about 200, is relatively small. Sociology at the level of university teching is growing. There is a broad range of sociological talent, some highly developed; a good deal is underdeveloped.
