BETWEEN TWO LANGUAGES: ROMANIAN AND FRENCH IDIOMATIC EXPRESSIONS IN LES RÉCITS D’ADRIEN ZOGRAFFI OF PANAÏT ISTRATI

Summary/Abstract: The use of Romanian and other languages by the writer Panaït Istrati is one of the linguistic and stylistic particularities of his work, written in French. The presence of Romanian idioms is systematically signalled in this respect. The purpose of our contribution consists in showing that the discussion of the relation between the two languages (French and Romanian) would be worth being resumed and analyzed in depth on the topic of idioms. Indeed, if the Romanian idioms are frequently used by Istrati, in a literal translation in French, the French ones and the ones which are common to both languages are no less employed.
