Summary/Abstract: During the course of five months of 2011 I spent in the USA, I gained a certain experience capital that seemed suitable for the analysis and interpretation through a tourist discourse, and in the analytical key that consists of theory of power and theory of communication. In that sense, I thought it was especially important to stress my attempt to find an authentic tourist scene that later on I tried to turn into a real social influence. One of the experiences that turned out to be especially important in that sense, is the meeting with an Amish community member and my brief stay with him. Analysing that meeting I tried to explore the possibility of reducing tourist transaction to a communication event within which, and with the help of which the power is reproduced and distributed.
