Distribution of Parts of Speech in Selected Music and Visual Arts Textbooks for Primary School Grades 4—6

Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article is a comparative analysis of language in selected music and visual arts textbooks for primary school grades 4 to 6. Randomly selected representative samples of four textbooks were submitted for analysis. The author calculated percentage share of particular parts of speech in textbooks, as well as text nominality indicator. The results of the statistical research broaden the knowledge on linguistic structure and textbook style; they can also contribute towards the advancement of the authors’ writing skills.
