Summary/Abstract: Every day a teacher, especially a speech therapist who works with the youngest children, uses a variety of texts that are helpful in improving the child language. Cognitive, therapeutic and educational values (and learning outcomes) presented in A Songbook for Children [Śpiewnik dla dzieci] by Maria Konopnicka multiply educational and therapeutic benefits, which is usually achieved by a set of repeated language and articulation exercises. It should be emphasized that the poet uses a beautiful poetic language that is tailored to the developmental needs of the child. What is more, even in the 21st century Konopnicka’s style of writing should be appreciated as it is so simple that makes a child repeat her songs easily and with pleasure. This is why, frequently repeated sequences of words may contribute to correct pronunciation.
