Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to tackle crisis communication and the image of the crisis at a multi-organizational level, with a focus on the public sector, in the cases of severe crises that pose threats to security and health. For the theoretical background, the article is based on the situational crisis communication theory introduced by the communication scholar Timothy Coombs and the image restoration theory introduced by William Benoit. The crisis that was analysed is an event that took place in Bucharest in October 2015, namely the “Colectiv” club blaze, which caused the death of dozens and the injury of more than one hundred people, having a major impact on the Romanian society.
