Summary/Abstract: Conventionally, the region of Banat is a multicultural and multi-ethnic space, in which the various values have always interfered and manifested.Situated at the confluence of Central and Eastern Europe, Banat’s favourable geographical position provides a wide opening and multiple benefits, both economic and cultural. As a space of interference, there have been numerous ethnic and cultural exchanges between the three neighbouring countries. These exchanges facilitated the continuous connection to the values of European culture.The entire cultural field has generated important opportunities for the development of a harmonious cultural-artistic life.The existence of a university as higher education institution has favoured the cultural diversity and expert training in specific areas. Thus, within the West University of Timișoara, the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology is one of the founding faculties of Timișoara’s academia.The academic press from the Banat’s cultural area was marked by the appearance of ‘The Annals of the West University of Timișoara’, focusing on different specializations.The study presents the issues of the ‘Philological Sciences Series’, starting with the first year of publication, 1963, until 2015. We focus on miscellaneous aspects related to the volumes’ structure, the specifics of the layout, the editorial team, concluding with information regarding the activity of the editors-in-charge within the West University of Timișoara.
