Summary/Abstract: Philosophical thought is usually located far away from everyday life. Kotarbiński’s philosophical concepts are different. The principles of praxeology formulated by him are used to manage the enterprise and to manage oneself. In both cases the most important are measurable goal, reflection, simplicity and the use of proven solutions.Kotarbiński’s thought contains also reference to morality, so presented in the way that it does not interfere with the instrumental nature of praxeology and does not obscure the aim of human activities. A very similar approach to efficiency appears in the textbooks of management and in guides which teach individuals how to construct their life strategies.
