THE ROLE OF ORTHODOX CHURCH IN A SECULAR EUROPE. CONSIDERATION FOR THE DEFENSE OF FAITH IN THE VISION OF PAUL EVDOKIMOV

Summary/Abstract: In the history of Christianity the Church was always in a real implication in the laicat’s problems who’s representing a double perspective in the same time: the society and the members of the Church, both components meaning the people of God, a communion which is confirming the Christian affiliation, baptized and ready to confess in a practical way their faith. In ourdays, when the world represents a secularized society and a cultural and religious mixed, the Church must proofs his role and his specifically mission meaning leading the people on the right way. The Church must be able to cope with the problems of the world, to safekeep a Christian consciousness. The message of the Church remains based on the same principles of our Saviour; it cannot be accused of not having the capacity to offer the world the saving Truth or of the lack of actuality in its preocupation but, eventually, of the lack of a stronger implication in the sphere of contemporary missiology, in the work of coming forward towards the diverse needs of mankind.
