Summary/Abstract: The article examines two moments of nationwide gatherings noted in The Tale of Barlaam and Yoasaf . The councils, at the command of King Abner and King Joashap, are important highlights from the story of the two kings. The consequences of these meetings are also significant for their countries. The story of the "councils" included in the narrative story of Barlaam and Joasaph directs the reader's / listener's thought to the rules of the New Testament apostles and functions as a topos. It is noted how the religion adopted in the kingdom as dominating will also affect its state organization and legal arrangements.
