Contemporary Discourses on Health and Its Social Concepts. Pedagogical Contexts

Summary/Abstract: Taking into account the category of colloquiality allows to state the ways of recognizing health in the social consciousness in terms of its nature, indicators and conditions, which are formed in the process of lifelong socialization of health. This is important for designing goals of health education because the subjective concepts of health participate in shaping the motivation to undertake health-related activities. The analysis of the content of colloquial concepts of health indicates an important role of the message which is contained in the media space. The social discourse on health is accompanied by positive and negative indicators of health-related lifestyle of society. This shows the need to raise the level of health literacy using the potential of the mass media.
