Summary/Abstract: Aleksander Wat’s short story Po śmierci, based on a text found by Prof. Adam Dziadek in the Yale University’s Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library. The text was retyped by Ola Watowa, the author’s wife, most probably in November 1986; attached to the text is a note in her hand, reading: “Unfinished short story Po śmierci, retyped from copybook II”. As suggested by Jan Zieliński, the work might have been written during Wat’s stay in Sopot where he supposedly drafted a scenario of a film on a German philosopher detained in a hotel being both a concentration camp and the beyond. The said scholar presumes that it could have been a record of the second ‘parapsychical experience’, out of three described as such by the poet, he went through in 1954 while in Sopot.
