Summary/Abstract: The article substantiates the deontological culture as a component of the teacher's professional readiness. In the context of the formation of the New Ukrainian School, the example of a teacher becomes a key educational element. The definition of “deontology” as a science of professional behavior of a person is presented. The value of pedagogical deontology, which develops rules and norms of behavior of the teacher in the field of his professional activity, is revealed. A retrospective analysis of the formation of normative requirements concerning the professional behavior of teachers is presented. It is proved that deontological culture is an integral part of professional culture. The concept of deontological readiness as a state of consciousness of a teacher, the presence of certain competences that meet the requirements of pedagogical deontology is disclosed. Typical aspects of pedagogical deontology (modern ethical professional standards; problems of moral education); situational aspects of pedagogical deontology (own responsibility for decision making in each particular situation) are presented. The significance of the preparation of future teachers in the context of teaching the disciplines of the pedagogical cycle is determined. The role of pedagogical practice in the formation of the deontological culture of the future teacher is revealed.
