Summary/Abstract: Some time ago, on one of the days of the „Boteni Bridge”Dance Festival, during a discussion with professor Mihai Magureanu, I came up with the idea to write a monograph dedicated to Boteni. Why did we get involved in this way of recovering the history of our commune? Among other things, because it is the place where outstanding Romanian personalities were born, such as philosopher, journalist and economist Petre Ţuţea (1902–1991) or philospher, ethnographer, folklorist sociologist and museologist Ion Chelcea (1902–1991), who also authored a monograph of the Boteni commune. I am grateful to all those who have contributed to the accomplishment of this project, my family and members of the local community.
