Summary/Abstract: Social workers enhance their professional competence in many forms of education, including the key role of professional specialization training I and II degree. Among the many areas of expertise to obtain level II, there is a possibility of orientation training to work with the elderly. In an article based on the experience of participants in level II specialization in the profession of social worker, pursued in the regional centre of social policy in the Opole have undergone analysis of social projects, for the role played in the process of professional development of people working with seniors. The text refers to the problem as far as analyzed form of training contributes to the development of innovative thinking in the area of work with the elderly and relates to the issue of institutional and structural barriers to the implementation of these innovative forms within the scope of the everyday functioning of units of assistance and social integration.
