Summary/Abstract: Slovenské pohľady, the oldest literary magazine in Slovakia, played during its history significant roles not only in literature, but also in social-political context of our nation. In 1989, in its 105th volume, there were various texts anticipated and reflected social-political dynamics leads to Velvet Revolution. The study will try to find the answers to questions of discourse change of Slovenské pohľady – what was the motivation of it, what were the reactions and what it meant not only for magazine but mainly for Slovak literature, culture and society, because role of the magazine Slovenské pohľady in revolution year 1989 we can call democratisation role.
