Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to show the broaden perspectiveon actions taken by universities in the area of adaptationand the influence of adaptation and language programson the further performance of international students in theacademic environment. What does influence the processof acculturation and how is it correlated with the ability tolearn and work in the receiving society? The paper concludeswith a few reflections on the role of how the adaptationprogram should be seen by the universities and whyis it important for education of foreigners.
