LAND USE STRUCTURE OF THE TOWN SQUARE IN UNIEJÓW

Summary/Abstract: Market square, historically being the central place in the city, has always been important for the socio economic development of urban settlements. During the last decades, town squares have been losing their market-place function, in favour of becoming representative spaces or places for recreation. Besides, in some cities there is strong pressure towards the development of the transport function. The main aim of this article is to describe the structure of the town square in Uniejów in the context of land use.
