To Interpret the Hadıth in Ilkhanate Era: The Example of al-Sharaf al-Dın al-Tıbı

Summary/Abstract: The compilations as a hadith comment activity must be evaluated from various ways especially in terms of the basic sources and political, social and cultural conditions that the author had experienced. From this perspective, the eighth century AH -in which Al-Sharaf ad-Din at-Tibi lived- constitutes one of the most turbulent periods of the history. On one hand, Islamic world was trying to overcome the Crusader attacks, on the other hand it was trying to compensate the destructions of Mongol invasion and also faced with political-cultural problems, internal controversies and sect conflicts. Tibi is one the most important scholars who lived in Tabris which is an important center for scholar and culture. This is a period in which Ilkhanate had tried to return the folk of region to Shiite belief with the power of political authority. Therefore, this article had been written because the comments included in al-Kashif -the commentary of al-Mishkat- which is the obvius product of the contribution of al-Tibi to Sunnah are important in terms of the period of al-Tibi and in general hadith interpretation.
