Summary/Abstract: During World War II, anti-Semitism became increasingly powerful throughout Europe, also in Northern Transylvania,leading afterwards to economic looting of Jewish population and the restriction of its socio-cultural life. The culmination of thisseries of anti-Jewish events and laws was their ghettoisation, deportation and then the extermination of Jews. The aim of thisstudy is to examine how the Hungarian press in Dej interpreted these events, wether it infl uenced the attitude of the Hungarianpopulation towards the Jews, on the other hand the purpose of the study is to expose the anti-Semitic journalists of the period.
