Summary/Abstract: The aim of the research is to assess the diversification of rural and urban-rural communes in West Pomeranian Voivodeship in terms of entrepreneurship and the labour market in 2016. The tests were carried out using the synthetic indicator. The following dia-gnostic features were adopted for analysis: economic entities registered into REGON (Natio-nal Official Register of Business Entities) per 1000 population, economic entities newly regi-stered in the REGON register for 10,000 population, share of registered unemployed in the working age population, expenditure on benefits and assistance in in-kind support as well as contributions for pension and disability insurance per capita. As a result of using the syn-thetic indicators, the examined municipalities were divided into five classes with different levels of entrepreneurial and labour market situations. The analysis shows that the most fa-vourable situation in the field of entrepreneurship and the labour market were characteri-zed by communes located in the northern and western parts of the region. On the other hand, unfavourable situation in terms of entrepreneurship and the labour market was no-ted in communes located in the eastern and central parts of the region
