Summary/Abstract: The anticommunist military resistance of the Cricău’s group represents a significant moment in the Romanians’ history of fight for liberty at the middle of the 20th century. The information referred to these events offer us significant data on the structure of the traditional communities and of the solidarity of their members. The initiators of the military anticommunist actions in the forest around Cricău were Ilarie Rus, mayor during Antonescu-Sima administration (1940-1941) and Vlad Anghel, mayor between 1945 and 1946. With them, many inhabitants of the region chose to fight against the communist regime.
