Summary/Abstract: The text seeks to explore the relationship between Moreno’s psychodrama and one of the main genre of the ancien Greek theatre, Tragedy. The approach brings together two lines of investigation, complementary but still distinctive. On the one hand, the type of re-contextualization to which tragic is submitted in contemporary theatre is put under scrutiny. On the other hand, the author advances the ide of a possible parallel between the Greak Tragedy and Moreno’s psychodrama. Such a parallel becomes plausible from the standpoint of their common effort of „taming” and reorienting the unpredictable (and often descructive) forces of the human psyche. This is to be done through a system of techniques and organizing procedures, that are more or less rigorously codified. The confluence of these two conceptual trajectories is pointed out through borderline notions such as „stage”, „role”, „counter role”, „katharsis”, and so on.
