Summary/Abstract: The main function of translation is to bring cultures and peoples closer. But sometimes when it is done exclusively by the translator, it can be an obstacle to a linguistic and cultural overture. It is exactly the case of litteral translation and preexistent equivalent search in proverb translation. We propose negotiation, an inclusive method associating both equivalence and litteralism by using the Leibniz theory of compossibility. The aim is to make litteral translation and equivalent search translation (polar methods) compatible. In order to reach a compromise which leads to unity and miscegenation we use two kinds of compossibility corresponding to Rousseau and Hobbes scenarios exposed by C. Thuderoz (2015).
