Summary/Abstract: Everyday life forces us to relocate from one place to another. This takes place first of all on public roads. The article is an attempt to discuss what components are available for road administration, what tasks it has to carry out and where it can find funds to carry out those tasks. With the accession to the European Union structures, the portfolio of possibilities for fund sourcing has been broadened and road authorities try to use them to the fullest extent.
