Summary/Abstract: The Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) is a cross-national study carried out in Hungary since 1985. It is aimed at monitoring of 11–17-year-old students’ health-related habits and subjective health status, following time and international trends, as well as exploring background factors of behaviours and health indices and their operation mechanisms. In this paper trends since 2000 on some important features of young people’s health promoting (e.g. eating, physical activity) and health compromising behaviours (e.g. smoking, alcohol consumption, sexual activity) have been presented. Results are explained at international level as well.
