Summary/Abstract: This article is devoted entirely to the structuring of regional issues and, above all, to the EU Regional Policy, both from a theoretical and practical point of view. In the discovery of the essence of regional development and the peculiarities of regional policy, postulates of regional and spatial sciences are used. Problems of regional policy formation have been outlined in terms of the use of geographic tools and the development of spatial and territorial. The article draws the relevant conclusions and recommendations for the definition of the object and the tasks of the regional policy and the interaction between the society-nature-space. An analysis of the state of regional policy in Bulgaria is made.
