Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the relationship between multiculturalism and the orthodox theory of the literary canon, forwarding critical points pertaining to the theoretical/conceptual canon and the academic/pedagogical canon. The multicultural perspective offers a representation key for the processes that ultimately determine the structure of the canon.
