Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with derivated nouns denoting pear which are found in the six-volume Dictionary of Serbo-Croatian Literary Language published by Matica srpska and Matica hrvatska. The analysis has shown that the analyzed derivatives are quite abundant (109), which is in accordance with the importance of the pear in Serbian traditional culture. Also, the nouns are derived with аs many as 29 different suffixes, among which the most productive ones are -ača and -ka, two highly productive suffixes in Serbian word formation. Additionally, the most productive traits that gave rise to nominating pear are those concerning the season of maturation and harvest and the color of the pear.
