TRA2 BÖLGESİNDE DIŞ TİCARET VE GÖÇ OLGUSU: 2010-2018 DÖNEMİ ÜZERİNE BİR İNCELEME
FOREIGN TRADE AND MIGRATION PHENOMENON IN TRA2 REGION: AN ASSESMENT ON 2010-2018 PERIOD

Summary/Abstract: The economy of TRA2 region, including Kars, Ardahan, Iğdır and Ağrı provinces, is based on agriculture. TRA2 region is one of the underdeveloped regions in Turkey and at the same time, stands out as a region that gives net migration in Turkey. For the development of the TRA2 region suggested that improving industry, utilizing regional tourism potential and increasing regional trade. With investment incentives in TRA2 region are intended developing industry and increasing tourism and trade revenues. However, the export and import of TRA2 region is very low, and in the last three years TRA2 region gives trade deficit. TRA2 Region’s export and import share in Turkey's exports and imports is very low as 0.07%. Iğdır realized 70% of TRA2 region exports and Ağrı performed 85% of TRA2 region imports in 2018. Iğdır and Ardahan are giving trade surplus whereas Ağrı and Kars giving trade deficits.
