Summary/Abstract: A third aspect of temporality in architecture is related to the comprehending of the architectural work by promenadingthrough it and thus investing Time into theprocess. To feel and understand the architectural space seen as experiential space involves an effort on our part. This comprehension stems from exploring the inside oft he building while living in it or occasionally passing by as well as exploring the outside. We can then assess thework as part of a specific site, as perceived in motion, while also discovering the connections it forms with the surrounding objects. The architectural promenade consists of an assimilation process, in the same way as performing arts turn Time into performance and message. The article deals with multiple interpretations and variationsof the concept of „promenade architecturale” proposed by le Corbusier as well as with the „atmospheres”of Zumthor, with our own emotional filters throughwhich we perceive architecture but also the filters incorporated into the project by the sensitivity of the one transmitting the message. The promenade implies severalfactors: a participant - recipient, a built environment for it to interact with and a landscape. The built environment mediates between the receptor and the landscapeand chooses to hide or reveal, like a theatre curtain with several degrees of opacity that shows reality in a mannerthat is imposed by the will of the architect.
