Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the coin segments – weights recently found on the territory of the Kherson Region of Ukraine. The weights are trapezoidal in shape and made from Olbia bronze coins of the 4th-3rd centuries BC.There are also considered previously published similar objects originating from the settlements of the chora of Olbia. All of them belong to the Classical and Hellenistic periods. The trapezoidal shape of the weights is characteristic of the Greek population of the Lower Bug Region since archaic times. These home-made segments could easily replace the official weights on the outlying villages of the polis and in its near border area, as well as be used as small and medium weight units in addition to standard, larger weights.
