KUTEL AS A FOLKLORIST

Summary/Abstract: In this study are taken to consideration some very significant parts from Albanian folklore. The most important ones are Kutel’s preparations to start studying folklore. One of the subjects of his studies is about “vendet e largimit” of Albanian national songs, where is distinguish his visionary thought and his suggestion that Albanian students should take licenses and doctorates from Albanian folklore. He first said this in 1933, at the time when not many of studies were done about our folklore. He also made a contribution because like a folklorist he writes the first book with scientific criteria in all the Albanian folklore, called ‘kenge e britma nga qyteti i djegur” in Tirana 1943. Many of his writings remain unpublished and forbidden by the communist dictatorship. This dictatorship punished him, imprisoned and buried him alive for his poems and his proggresive ideas. This is what happend to him in Pogradec from the fascist regime that burned his house with his father in it.
