Summary/Abstract: The article explores the concept of well-being in the context of positive psychology and its importance in the contemporary world of work. It presents hedonistic and eudaimonic models of well-being and aims at describing ways to achieve the state of well-being satisfying to an individual person. What is more, it attempts to give an insight into well-being at work focusing on the PERMA model designed by Martin Seligman as well as on the virtues and signature strengths and their importance for successful and satisfying career on today’s job market as perceived by Polish young people. The research part uses positive orientation scale, work satisfaction scale and a questionnaire to measure the perceptions of virtues and signature strengths on the contemporary job market in its attempt to define the role of the above for positive and satisfying career development.
