Summary/Abstract: The article aims to trace the reception of Antigone on the basis of feminist and gender criticism. It turns out that the same categories noticed byindividual researchers are assessed and valorized differently, accordinglyto the feminist trend they identify with. The author decides, therefore, toreverse the optics and evaluate the discourse through the prism of themethod of analysis and interpretation of the mythological heroine.
