Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author analyzes the images of childhood revealed in women’s poetry, ways of creating such a point of view in which the sensa- tions of a young woman overlap with the world of a little girl. He is most interested in the motives of transition and metamorphosis, describing the state of suspension between childhood and adulthood. In his opinion, the figure of the girl retains memory and nostalgic returns to childhood, naivety and purity, and at the same time anxiety associated with rapidly lost purity. Some of the analyzed texts indicate that the girl is amazing and disturbing, threatening and mysterious, ambivalent. In this context, the „girl” remains a primeval image of femininity seeking its free and somewhat ineffable image.
