THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION OF CYBERCRIME

Summary/Abstract: The development of the information society through the use of information and communication technologies has generated the possibility of committing crimes in a special way than traditional ones. Thus, the analysis of the criminal phenomenon also covers cybercrime as a new dimension of organized crime. This paper deals with the role played by forensic investigation in the fight against cybercrime, by presenting aspects that distinguish it from other types of classical investigation. Due to the peculiarities of cyberspace and the complexity of cybercrime, forensic identification is a challenge for investigative authorities.
