Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses a selection of organisational issues of mountain rescue teams in the context of the growing interest in cave tourism. The author elucidates the role of mountain rescue organisations in cave rescue activities. Based on a number of examples of real incidents, it shows the complexity of activities and indicates the characteristics of cave accidents and the role of cooperation of other emergency services. It also provides examples of specialised equipment and points out the path of evolution of this form of mountain rescue, taking into account the various forms of training, the unification of procedures, and the international cooperation schemes operating between cave rescue organisations.
