Summary/Abstract: Third-country nationals in an irregular stay in the European Union represent a current topic on the European political and social agenda. A control mechanism has been created to prevent and control this phenomenon and it supposes sanctioning employers of illegally staying third country nationals. This paper identifies and analyzes the current and possible effects of legislative provisions incumbent on employers of illegally staying third-country nationals.
