Stimulation of Lodz Region Local Entrepreneurship – Analysis of Selected Entrepreneurial Initiatives and Sources of their Financing

Summary/Abstract: Article aims to characterize and evaluate selected initiatives of local entrepreneurship stimulation in the Lodz region. This scientific study uses statistical data and information which are a part of: • results of research in the field of barriers and stimulants of regional development; • results of analyzes, summaries and reports made on behalf of local government and private entities involved in the phenomena of regional development, local businesses, and their support; • thematically related literature sources and scientific publications. Empirical part of the article consists of description and assessment attempt of the selected initiatives which are expression of good practices of local enterprise that were undertaken and carried thanks to the availability of a variety of funding sources such as: JEREMIE initiative, RPO/ZPORR and POKL programs, or support of the Incubators of Entrepreneurship (IP).
