Summary/Abstract: Cooperation entities, interested in developing joint strategies for regional development, can have many forms. A result of conducting activities indirectly revives the local economy by strengthening its role in the region. Strong driver of rural development is the development of local tourism. The cooperation between different subjects and the creation of attractive offers to attract tourists, and thus capital, expand the existing infrastructure and shape further development strategies. One side with often untapped potential is the church. On the one hand, its buildings, monuments, religious art and relics can be a local tourist attraction. On the other hand, it should also be remembered that religious experiences are a common reason for religious tourism and pilgrimage. Before the political changes, the cooperation with the local church was very difficult because of the reluctance of the local authorities. Also, in the era of market economy, the local ecclesiastical authorities were often not interested in cooperating and supporting the development of local tourism. But now you can see signs of cooperation and the building of a joint development strategy aimed at attracting tourists and pilgrims. Examples of cooperation of local authorities with representatives of local church authorities, aimed at the development of the tourist offer of the region, are the evidence of the desirability of such actions and patterns to be followed.
